Overview
Selank is a synthetic analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide Tuftsin, developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Russia. Research focuses on anxiolytic, nootropic and immunomodulatory properties in animal models.

Mechanism of action
Modulates the GABAergic system and stabilises enkephalins, the endogenous opioid peptides regulating mood. Unlike benzodiazepines it does not downregulate GABA receptors in research models, which is the accepted explanation for the absence of tolerance.
