Overview
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid fragment of Body Protection Compound, a protein occurring in human gastric juice. It is among the most studied peptides in regenerative research, with published work spanning tendon, ligament and gastrointestinal tissue models.

Mechanism of action
Upregulates growth hormone receptors locally and promotes VEGF expression, the key signalling protein for new blood vessel formation. It also modulates the nitric oxide system, central to healing and blood flow regulation. Unusually for a peptide it is stable in acidic conditions.
